Thursday, June 14: a handful of art lovers, donors and the intelligentsia dell’arte including Nathalie Bondil, director and chief curator of the Museum of Fine Arts in Montreal are reunited for a sole reason: celebrating the Fonderie Darling’s 10th anniversary.

The cost of a ticket for the evening? anywhere from $150 to $3,500.

From 6 to 8pm was held a private party in order to raise funds by selling art works. Generous donors have thus managed to raise a record high of $44 000 – in two hours.

On the menu: an unusual, unique venue like nowhere else in Montreal for our private party, all you can drink sparkling cider, refined canapés courtesy of Cluny ArtBar, cupcakes all the more appealing one another, a live Montreal Baroque soundtrack and art performances by Janick Burn, Helena Martin Franco and Martin Chramosta, etc..

Caroline Andrieux, founder of the Darling Foundry, has set the tone: the Darling is a unique, boiling nest of creation, just like an untamed beast; a bit rebellious. Welcoming resident artists from around the world, the art center’s mission is to propel their careers. Thus, donors will contribute to the future of the Darling Foundry.

At 8:30 p.m. the doors were opened. On the public square of the foundry, the masses were agitated: DJ Champion was about to perform…

On another note: say farewell to the Cluny ArtBar. Montreal’s 5 star institution, Le Club Chasse & Pêche, will be opening a restaurant in Cluny’s old premises. Le CC&P will be catering private events held at the foundry.
